About David Racich
David Racich is the owner and President and CEO of Brokers Alliance, Inc., a Fountain Hills, Arizona insurance distribution firm that operates as an IMO, FMO, and BGA. His father, Joe, founded the company in 1982, and David acquired it and has led it since 2009, making it a second-generation, family-owned business now in its fifth decade. Under his leadership Brokers Alliance built its own technology in-house, including the MyAdvisorCloud agent platform, the MyAdvisorGrids commission engine, and the RetirementBrain planning tool. David is a hands-on artificial-intelligence practitioner who designs, deploys, and runs AI and autonomous-agent systems in real business operations and builds AI directly into insurance distribution. He is also co-founder of Acrylic Financial, a registered investment advisor, and Acrylic Capital, a hedge fund, a principal of BDR Holding Group, and an active angel investor in early-stage technology and insurance companies.
Areas of expertise
- Independent insurance distribution (IMO, FMO, BGA) and how agents and advisors choose a partner
- Insurance technology and insurtech, including building agent platforms in-house
- Applied AI and autonomous agents in real, regulated business operations
- Life insurance, annuities, and advanced-market case design
- Retirement and income planning through the independent-advisor channel
- Second-generation, independently-owned business leadership
Points of view
- The insurance distributor that builds its own software will win the next decade; reselling vendor technology will not.
- No-fee, transparent-commission distribution is table stakes now. Technology and support are the real differentiators.
- AI will not replace the independent agent. It will make the best ones far more productive, and the distributor's job is to build the tools.
- Consolidation is hollowing out independent distribution. Independently-owned firms are the counterweight.
- Retirement income is moving to the independent-advisor channel, and the technology to serve it is the bottleneck.
