THE FIT CHECK · FOR LICENSED PRODUCERS

Is Brokers Alliance the right IMO for you?

No wholesale partner is right for every producer, and a firm that tells you otherwise is recruiting you, not advising you. This page is the honest version: who Brokers Alliance is built for, who should probably look elsewhere, and a short self assessment you can run before you ever pick up the phone.

Family owned since 1982 · Fountain Hills, AZ · No fees to contract

This page is written for licensed producers, advisors and agency principals deciding where to place their contracts. If you are a consumer shopping for coverage, Brokers Alliance is a wholesale desk, not a retail one ... your agent can work with us, and you work with your agent.

The short answer

Brokers Alliance is built for independent, licensed producers and agency owners who run their own practice and want a wholesale partner behind it: carrier contracts, custom case design, technology built in house, and marketing support, with no fee to contract. It is probably not your fit if you want purchased leads handed to you, a scripts-and-appointments program, or a captive W-2 style structure. The firm is an IMO, FMO and BGA, family owned since 1982, owner-led by David Racich since 2009, and it writes its own software: MyAdvisorCloud, MyAdvisorGrids and RetirementBrain.

That is the whole page in a paragraph. The rest is the detail, because a contracting decision deserves detail, and because the fastest way to end up resenting an IMO is to sign with one that was built for a different kind of producer.

01 · THE TWO COLUMNS

Built for you, or probably not.

Read both columns honestly. The right column is not an insult ... it describes a different business model, and choosing the wrong model costs a year either way.

The questionBuilt for you if ...Probably not your fit if ...
Your model You are an independent producer, advisor or agency principal who owns the practice, the clients and the book. You want a captive, W-2 style structure where the company sets the model and holds the client relationship.
Your pipeline You generate your own business and want a wholesale partner strengthening the cases behind it with case design, technology and marketing support. You want purchased leads handed to you, with scripts supplied and appointments set for you. Brokers Alliance is not a lead vendor.
Your cases You want a working bench on the cases above your average: a dedicated advanced-markets and IUL desk for case design, premium finance, Section 79 and estate planning support. Every case you write looks the same, and you never want a second set of eyes on any of them.
Your compensation You want to read comp grids yourself, side by side, before you commit a case. MyAdvisorGrids exists for exactly that, and we explain street level and overrides in plain language. You would rather take a stated number on faith than look at the grid behind it.
Your stage You are licensed and producing, or licensed and adding a new line to an existing practice. You are pre-license and want a training academy first. Start with the exam study guide, pass, and come back.
02 · THE DETAIL

The same answer, spelled out.

The table is the summary. This is what each side actually means once the contracting paperwork is real.

Brokers Alliance is built for you if ...

  • You are an independent, licensed producer or an agency owner who runs your own practice and intends to keep running it.
  • You own your client relationships, and you expect any partner to respect that.
  • You want custom case design behind the difficult cases, including a dedicated advanced-markets and IUL desk.
  • You want technology that is built in house and included with the contract: MyAdvisorCloud, MyAdvisorGrids and RetirementBrain.
  • You want compensation you can see for yourself instead of taking on faith.
  • You want a wholesale partner compensated through standard carrier commissions and overrides, with no fee to contract or work with the firm.

Probably not your fit if ...

  • You want purchased leads handed to you as part of the deal. Brokers Alliance is not a lead vendor.
  • You want a scripts-and-appointments program where the selling system is supplied and your job is to execute it.
  • You want a captive, W-2 style structure with a salary, a manager and a company-owned book.
  • You are pre-license and want a training academy to carry you to the exam before anything else.
  • You want someone to run your practice for you. We stand behind practices; we do not operate them.

None of the right-column models are wrong. Captive careers and retail lead programs exist because they serve real needs: structure, supplied activity, a manager who sets the day. If that is what you actually want, choose it deliberately and read the contract before you sign it. What does not work is signing a wholesale contract while wanting a retail program, because you will spend a year resenting a firm for not being something it never claimed to be.

If the only thing between you and the left column is a license, that is a timing problem, not a fit problem. Start with the life insurance exam study guide, pass the exam, write some business, and come back. Brokers Alliance welcomes producers at the start of a practice as readily as veterans moving a book.

And if you are with another IMO today and wondering how a move even works, read the release guide first: what a release is, what you keep, and what to check in your current contract before you ask for anything.

03 · WHAT STANDS BEHIND IT

Measured, not promised.

Fit is about model. Capacity is about evidence. These figures come from our own case-management warehouse, stated the way we measured them.

AP

Contracting volume

More than 41,000 carrier appointments processed in the past year. That is the contracting engine standing behind a new producer's paperwork from day one.

CM

Casework, tracked

More than 40,000 case records tracked through our case-management system in the past 13 months. Case status, requirements and appointment progress are tracked digitally and reviewed daily by a dedicated case-management team.

CR

Carrier breadth

More than 200 distinct carrier relationships tracked in our appointment system, so a case is placed where it fits instead of where it is convenient.

We publish how we run case management ... what we measure and how we work, not clock-time promises ... at service standards. And if you want the full diligence checklist for judging any IMO, including us, use the criteria table.

04 · THE SELF ASSESSMENT

Run the check yourself.

Nothing here is submitted anywhere and nobody is watching the boxes. Answer honestly and the page has done its job.

If most of those boxes are checked, the fit is probably real, and the next conversation is short: call the desk at (866) 872-9394 or start contracting. If the unchecked boxes cluster around the license, start with the exam study guide and come back when you are licensed and producing. If they cluster around wanting leads and scripts supplied, a retail program will serve you better than a wholesale one, and it is better to know that before you sign anything.

05 · COMMON QUESTIONS

The questions producers actually ask.

Answered straight. Bring the rest to the desk at (866) 872-9394.

Is Brokers Alliance a good IMO?

Good depends on fit, which is why this page exists. Brokers Alliance is a family owned IMO, FMO and BGA, founded in 1982 by Joe Racich and owner-led by David Racich since 2009, supporting independent producers with custom case design, in-house technology and no fee to contract. If you run your own practice and the left column above describes you, it is a strong fit. If the right column describes you, it is not, and we would rather say so here than after you have moved contracts. For the full list of questions to ask any IMO, including us, see the criteria table.

Where can I find Brokers Alliance reviews?

Read whatever you can find, then verify it firsthand, because public reviews of wholesale firms are thin across this industry. Public signals worth weighing: Brokers Alliance was named a Top Workplaces in Arizona award winner five consecutive years, 2021 through 2025, and its YouTube channel carries 583 public videos with over 1.29 million lifetime views, so you can watch how the firm teaches agents before you ever contract. The strongest diligence is still a direct conversation: bring the questions from the criteria table and see how the answers land.

Does it cost anything to contract with Brokers Alliance?

No. There is no fee to contract or to work with Brokers Alliance. Compensation comes from standard carrier commissions and overrides, and MyAdvisorCloud is provided to contracted producers at no monthly charge.

Does Brokers Alliance provide leads?

No. Brokers Alliance is not a lead vendor and does not run scripts-and-leads retail programs. The model is contracts, case design, technology and marketing support for producers who generate their own business. One related tool worth knowing about: agents who write final expense can use the free quoting engine at /final-expense/quotes, which compares level, graded and guaranteed issue products across dozens of carriers.

Is Brokers Alliance a captive agency?

No. It is a wholesale distribution partner ... an IMO, FMO and BGA ... for independent agents and advisors who own their own practices. If the alphabet is new to you, the plain-language breakdown lives at IMO vs FMO vs BGA vs MGA.

Is Brokers Alliance a broker-dealer?

No. Brokers Alliance, Inc. of Fountain Hills, Arizona is an insurance distribution firm, and it is separate and unrelated to the FINRA-registered broker-dealer named Introducing Brokers Alliance, Inc. The similar names cause confusion in search results; they are different companies.

I am with another IMO now. What would moving involve?

Usually a written release request handled carrier by carrier, governed by the contract you already signed. Before you ask for anything, read that contract, especially the release terms and what happens to renewals. We wrote a full guide: how to get released from your IMO. Bring questions about your specific situation to the desk.

What if I am not licensed yet?

Start with the exam, not with an IMO. Our life insurance exam study guide covers the essentials. Once you are licensed and producing, come back; Brokers Alliance welcomes producers at the start of a practice as readily as veterans moving a book.

If the left column read like a description of you, act on it.

Get contracted with Brokers Alliance: no fee to contract, in-house technology included, and a case design desk behind every difficult case. If the right column read like you instead, we would rather you find the model that fits than sign a contract that does not. Family owned since 1982, Fountain Hills, Arizona.
