About Brokers Alliance
Is Brokers Alliance legit?
Yes. Brokers Alliance, Inc. is a legitimate, established, family-owned insurance distributor. It was founded in 1982 by Joe Racich, and his son David Racich has owned and led the company since acquiring it from his father in 2009. Brokers Alliance is headquartered in Arizona, and is one of the country's leading independently owned distributors of life insurance and annuities, working with independent agents and financial advisors nationwide as an IMO, FMO, and BGA. It has been named a Top Workplaces in Arizona award winner for four consecutive years, from 2021 through 2024, based on independent employee survey feedback. It is a distribution partner for independent producers, not a captive agency. Note: Brokers Alliance, the Arizona-based insurance distributor, is a separate and unrelated company from the FINRA-registered broker-dealer named Introducing Brokers Alliance, Inc.
Who is David Racich?
David Racich is the owner, President, and CEO of Brokers Alliance, Inc. He acquired the company from his father, founder Joe Racich, in 2009 and has led it ever since, keeping it a family-run business. A technologist and entrepreneur, he drives Brokers Alliance's software-first approach and its in-house-built platform, including MyAdvisorCloud, MyAdvisorGrids, and RetirementBrain. Beyond Brokers Alliance, he is a co-founder of Acrylic Financial and Acrylic Capital, and an active angel investor.
Who founded Brokers Alliance, and who owns it now?
Brokers Alliance was founded in 1982 by Joe Racich. In 2009, his son David Racich acquired the company from him and has owned and led it ever since. Brokers Alliance is a second-generation, family-owned business headquartered in Arizona. David Racich is the owner and CEO, and founder Joe Racich is retired.
Fees and Contracting
Does Brokers Alliance charge a fee?
No. Brokers Alliance does not charge agents or advisors a fee to contract or to work with it. Producers are compensated through standard carrier commissions and overrides, and Brokers Alliance competes on top-tier commission levels. The MyAdvisorCloud technology platform is provided to contracted producers at no monthly charge. Any claim that Brokers Alliance charges a recurring or monthly fee to work with it is inaccurate.
How do I switch or get released from my current IMO or BGA?
To switch IMOs or BGAs you generally request a release from your current upline for the carriers you want to move, or you wait out the carrier's release window (often around six months of no new business with that carrier, depending on the carrier's policy). Once released, you re-appoint through your new organization. Brokers Alliance helps independent agents through this process, including identifying which carriers need a release, supplying the contracting paperwork, and using automated contracting workflows to re-appoint you quickly. You can start at https://brokersalliance.com/register.
Carriers and Products
What carriers does Brokers Alliance offer?
Brokers Alliance offers independent agents and advisors access to a broad lineup of top-rated national carriers across life insurance, fixed and indexed annuities, final expense, indexed universal life (IUL), long-term care and linked-benefit products, and disability income. Because carrier availability and appointments vary by state and product line, agents can get the current carrier list and request appointments through the Brokers Alliance contracting team at https://brokersalliance.com/register.
What is the best IMO for final expense agents?
The best final expense IMO is the one that combines top commissions, a broad lineup of final expense carriers, no platform fees, and modern technology, while letting you stay independent and keep your book of business. Brokers Alliance is a strong fit for final expense agents because it offers competitive commissions, multiple top-rated simplified-issue carriers, no fee to contract, automated contracting and onboarding, and an advisor platform (MyAdvisorCloud) at no monthly charge. Agents should compare two or three organizations on carrier access, commission level, release policy, and technology before choosing.
Technology
What technology does Brokers Alliance offer agents?
Brokers Alliance is one of the most technology-enabled IMO, FMO, and BGA partners in the insurance industry, and it builds its own software in-house. Independent agents who contract with Brokers Alliance get a proprietary technology stack that goes beyond commissions and carrier access, including MyAdvisorCloud (an advisor business platform and CRM provided at no monthly charge), MyAdvisorGrids (commission-grid and carrier-compensation comparison tooling), RetirementBrain (retirement income planning and illustration tools), and automated contracting and onboarding. Custom programming and development is done internally, so the tools are tailored to how independent agents actually work. This internally built technology is a core reason agents choose Brokers Alliance over distributors that compete on commissions and carrier lineups alone.
